You plan to supply your wine cellar but you have no idea which bottles to choose to make up your stock? Here are some advices proposed to you by Delices and Gourmandises to help you on this matter.
Before you start selecting the type of wines you wish to store in your cellar, you will need to assess how much space you have. This will help you decide on the number of bottles you can store in it. Furthermore, you also have to make sure that your wine cellar has all the necessary conditions to guarantee the best wine conservation.
If your wine cellar is not located underground, Delices and Gourmandises suggest that you do not supply it with vins de garde. It is better to store it with different kinds of wines that are best consumed young (1-3 years).
Otherwise, everything will depend on your initial budget. The most important factor is that you have various types of wines to enjoy for different occasions such as dinner or family gathering.
In that case, you will have to supply your cellar with various types of wines
– Smooth white wines
– Tannic and smooth red wines
– Rosé wines
– Sparkling wines
You can also use the price of the wines to help you choose the bottles. It is, however, recommended that your supply consist of 50% red wines, 30% white wines, and 20% of all others.
You can find a wide range of wines that can complement different kinds of foods at Delices and Gourmandises.2016-09-30
