The wine waiters of Delices and Gourmandises warmly recommend the Château Grand Jean, a Bordeaux wine produced by Dulon wineyards in France. With its subtle red berries aromas, it will perfectly accompany your plates of meat as delicatessen, pork, beef or game.
This red wine is made of a delicate mix of three grape varieties which are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The vineyards on which they grow are settled on grounds composed of clay and limestone and benefit from an excellent exposure to sunlight. Only the fruits that are perfectly ripe are collected for making this wine, from that come its sweet taste and its intense red berries aromas.
This Château Grand Jean contains 60 % of Merlot, 35 % of Cabernet Sauvignon and 5 % of Cabernet Franc. The grapes have been converted into vine separately for a better conservation of their aromas. This wine has a beautiful red color that makes you think of a strong taste. At smell, it has an intense aroma of red berries enhanced by a light perfume of undergrowth in aftertaste. At taste, it is quite full-bodied and rich but easy to swallow. It is also characterized by its mildness, soft tannin and a fresh acidity.
This Bordeaux wine has been rewarded many times for its quality : its 2010 vintage has received the Bordeaux rouges Oscar. It has also received the golden medal of Gilbert et Gaillard and the silver medal of Macôn competition.
The Château Grand Jean is an excellent table wine made for family dinners or special opportunity. It will accompany red meat dishes and game as beefsteak of bison, deer meat or leg of lamb. It is also recommended for tasting cheese dishes and delicatessen. It is best served chilled between 16 °C and 18 °C.
